AND A ROYALLY GOOD TIME WAS HAD BY ALL: Gabriela Cortez of The Queen V has started a business that is the beginning of something… royally good. Her shop is founded on very simple beliefs for the items she carries in her shop: Be vegan, be cruelty-free, be eco-friendly, be natural…and be the very best. She removes the guesswork for all of us by sourcing and curating products which meet this criteria. Visit her online…or go say hi at her shop.

EAT, DRINK…THRIVE.: Remember how sad you felt when you thought the vegfest season was all wrapped up? Well, put on a happy face! Eat, Drink, Thrive is seitan-packed with speakers (even our final guest is going to be there!), workshops, ethical vendors, and vegan food as far as the eye can see. Mike Spadafora of Vegevents Inc. knows how to throw a great vegan event! Wait until you hear what else they have lined up.

A GOOD DAY!: Even though we chatted about her most recent book, “A Bad Day”, it’s always a good day when you get to interview Ruby Roth. Both my brain and heart feel a whole lot bigger. And let’s hope for decent weather while she’s on Canadian soil and visiting from Los Angeles at “Eat, Drink, Thrive”, being held at the Scotiabank Convention Centre in…Niagara Falls! She even has an Etsy shop where you can get a personalized pet portrait done.

THAT’S A (VEGAN!) WRAP: Not our regular newsreel, but how cool is this: Nathan T. Peragine is a PhD student looking for vegan participants in an online workshop study he is doing as part of his PhD dissertation to answer the question: What would an Environmental Ethics methodology of world building look like in theory and practice? Do you want to contribute to university research that supports veganism? You have the opportunity to sign up for a free four-week online workshop in October and November 2019 where you will work with others in the vegan community to build a fictional world. They are living in the imagination of people who only see animals as food and objects to use. This online workshop is an opportunity to imagine and build a world with other people that looks different. Contact him at

As well, our art auction fundraiser on Facebook is in full swing. Some very talented and generous artists in the animal rights community have kindly donated some of their creations to raise funds for Calling All Vegans. It takes many hours to produce each episode — research, scheduling, script-writing, etc. — plus costs to rent the space and do post-production, etc….but it’s a labour of love and money well spent. We want to continue building our portfolio of content that embraces the anti-speciesism/pro-vegan message. To lower our costs and no longer have our guests constrained by the in-studio calendar, we are hoping to raise $3,000 for reasonably-priced portable equipment.

Huge thanks to Chris for working his magic to make this show possible and to ThatChannel for allowing us the use of the space for a steal of a deal.
